Pembroke Fire Department
The Pembroke Fire Department has been serving Pembroke for more than a century and currently has an ISO (Insurance Service Office) rating of 4/9, or a 4/4x under the new rating system. We have automatic mutual aid with the Bryan County Fire Department which means when needed, both departments will assist each other across the jurisdictional boundaries. Located on North College Street in Pembroke, our fire station houses three engines, manned by one full time fire chief and more than two dozen volunteer fire fighters. The members of the fire department are trained and ready to assist the City of Pembroke’s citizens with all types or emergencies. In 2013, we became equipped with The Jaws of Life (Cutter and Spreaders).
If you are interested in volunteering, scheduling a station tour, or a public educational event, please call our non-emergency number at (912) 653-4400 and speak with Fire Chief, Peter Waters. The Pembroke Fire Department is committed to your safety.
Safety Health and Environmental
The Safety Health and Environmental Department is responsible for creating a safe environment for our employees while adhering to all local, state and federal safety and environmental requirements. We insure the safety of our employees through training on the dangers of workplace hazards and by performing safety inspections on our facilities and equipment. Our public facilities are also held to these same standards to provide a safe overall environment for our citizens.
