Pembroke Police Department

Message from Interim Police Chief, Stacy Strickland

The Pembroke Police Department is committed to fairness, compassion and excellence; providing police services in accordance with the law, while being sensitive to the needs of the public we serve. We are committed to community partnerships through which we can address crime and public safety concerns.

MISSION STATEMENT AND PURPOSE

As members of the Pembroke Police Department, we are all charged with the responsibility of serving and protecting the citizens and transients within the City of Pembroke.

The Pembroke Police Department vigorously responds to calls for law enforcement services, enforces all State and local laws and ordinances, protects life and property, investigates matters of a criminal nature, preserves the peace, and strives to prevent crime disorder. We are guided by the ordinances enacted by the Mayor and City Council, the laws of the state of Georgia, and the Constitution of the United States of America.

We must strive to set a standard of excellence for others to follow, both individually and collectively. In keeping with this goal, we have adopted the following mission statement that reflects the fundamental principles of our agency. We feel this should be the cornerstone of each and every member of our agency's policing philosophy:

MISSION STATEMENT

It is the Mission of the Pembroke Police Department and it’s members to provide the inhabitants of Pembroke quality services while being responsive to our community’s needs.

We recognize that without the assistance and support of community members and leaders, valuable resources will be overlooked in the process of maintaining the quality of life our citizens have grown accustomed to.

We pledge to work with community leaders and members to form a partnership to improve the quality of life, promote safe, and secure neighborhoods and commercial districts within our community.

We pledge to maintain order in our community recognizing that all inhabitants are afforded equal rights and that each one is treated with the utmost respect.

We pledge to extend beyond the scope of traditional police services to provide a quality of life for our citizens that are second to no other community through cooperative efforts with other government agencies, citizens groups, and organizations.

We the members of the Pembroke Police Department make this pledge in an effort to provide the citizens of Pembroke quality services while affording all inhabitants the dignity and respect they deserve.

It is the intent of our administration to provide each and every one of our employees as much guidance and direction as humanly possible to meet this standard of excellence.

Pembroke Fire Department

The Pembroke Fire Department has been serving Pembroke for more than a century and currently has an ISO (Insurance Service Office) rating of 5/9. We have automatic mutual aid with the Bryan County Fire Department which means when needed, both departments will assist each other across the jurisdictional boundaries. Located on North College Street in Pembroke, our fire station houses three engines, manned by one full time fire chief and more than two dozen volunteer fire fighters. The members of the fire department are trained and ready to assist the City of Pembroke’s citizens with all types or emergencies. In 2013, we became equipped with The Jaws of Life (Cutter and Spreaders).

If you are interested in volunteering, scheduling a station tour, or a public educational event, please call our non-emergency number at (912) 653-4400 and speak with Fire Chief, Peter Waters. The Pembroke Fire Department is committed to your safety.

Safety Health and Environmental

The Safety Health and Environmental Department is responsible for creating a safe environment for our employees while adhering to all local, state and federal safety and environmental requirements. We insure the safety of our employees through training on the dangers of workplace hazards and by performing safety inspections on our facilities and equipment. Our public facilities are also held to these same standards to provide a safe overall environment for our citizens.
